Incredible Edible /Community Group

We all enjoy the wonderful benefits of caring for our allotments, such as spending time with our community, being outdoors and enjoying fresh food. As you all know, there isn’t enough space on allotments for everyone and the waiting times sometimes take years. A group of local residents are setting up Incredible Edible – a community group to promote food growing in public spaces across Beeston. This is part of a successful national network and members of it have so far created over 150 public beds of fruit and veg across Leeds. We also have support from the local council and our local councillors.

If you or anyone you know is interested in joining or just hearing more about our plans, come to our first meeting on Wednesday 24th September from 6pm at Beeston Library.

It’s free and open to people of all ages and skill levels.

Gates – OLD LANE ENTRANCE

We know there is a problem with the alignment of the gates at Old Lane entrance making it difficult to open and shut the gates. I have informed Leeds City Council who will be out to look at the gates. If your really struggling getting on site , can i suggest you use the entrance on St Anthonys Drive to gain access until the gates are looked at.

Important Notice

Dear Members

It has come to our attention with reports from plot holders having items go missing from their plots and sheds.

Long handled irish shovel, new planks of wood, black water tank with fixings, long ladies gloves, watering cans; 34 petunia plants, this is what we have been told has gone missing from members. As members we all come to our allotment plots to help our mental health and well being, and to enjoy gardening and socializing not to spend time worrying when whare not on site. Nobody should be going on other peoples plots unless they have had permission. If anyone knows anything that might help stop this, please speak to the committee

Thank You

Hosepipes can only be used to fill up water barrels that you have on your plot. That strictly means hosepipes cant be used to direct water plants or land, it is forbidden on site. Anyone caught using a hosepipe other than filling up a water barrel will be in a strict breach of there tenancy agreement .
