Dear Members,
Just to let you know the water supply for the site will be turned off after BONFIRE NIGHT
We do this to ensure we do not get frozen pipes over the winter months & receive any unwanted high call out charges from the water board.

Now we are well in to Autumn the paths all covered in gold & yellow leaves. Plot members can be seen winter digging & completing those jobs that are too time consuming in the growing season.
Seed potatoes have now been ordered with our supplier for delivery early February next year. The clocks go back at 2 o clock tomorrow morning so the days get shorter, but we do get an extra hours sleep. The Halloween celebrations follow on the 31st October.
Our site is looking really tidy as the season is coming to an end
Well done to all our members

Just a reminder to plot members that there will be NO communal bonfire this year.
Any rubbish that needs to be burnt by individual members, must take place on there own plot ,and with safety precautions in place. Fires lit around the 4th to sixth of November are permitted on our site, Just obviously think about wind direction when cars are travelling on OLD LANE. Be Safe

These are two photographs taken on Tony Paine’s plot (38). He put cow manure in piles on his plot with a little help from a friend. Tony let the hens out for a stroll & they did the rest. It took them less than an hour to spread the manure. Easy gardening if you have the hens.

These scarecrows were made by the pupils of the Hugh Gaitskell School gardening club. Along with the Depuy group of volunteers. We wanted to show the pupils what great work they have done in decorating the site. Thanks to all involved on Plot 28.

Dear Plot Members,
Hugh Gaitskell School pupils made a number of scarecrows as an allotment project. They have surplus scarecrows so if you would like one for your plot the school group along with teacher supervisor’s, and the Depuy volunteers runs on Wednesdays at the moment 12- 1pm on PLOT 28. Just ask for one it would be really great & motivating for the children seeing the scarecrows around the site.
