We all enjoy the wonderful benefits of caring for our allotments, such as spending time with our community, being outdoors and enjoying fresh food. As you all know, there isn’t enough space on allotments for everyone and the waiting times sometimes take years. A group of local residents are setting up Incredible Edible – a community group to promote food growing in public spaces across Beeston. This is part of a successful national network and members of it have so far created over 150 public beds of fruit and veg across Leeds. We also have support from the local council and our local councillors.
If you or anyone you know is interested in joining or just hearing more about our plans, come to our first meeting on Wednesday 24th September from 6pm at Beeston Library.
It’s free and open to people of all ages and skill levels.
